36% of the average black bin contents are food waste. Currently all incinerated or sent to landfill, we’d like to turn it into glorious compost full of living microbes and fungi and that in turn gives life to healthier and stronger plants.

We initially have space for a limit amount of households in HD7 & HD9, and we would love you to join us.

£12 a month:

• You will be provided with a 25l sealable bucket with bokashi bran to ferment your food waste (breaks down food quicker & helps the food to stop smelling)
• This will be collected every fortnight, and you will be given a clean bucket in return.
• The bucket can be kept outside and used with a kitchen compost caddy system, there is no need to keep the bucket inside.
• You will receive one 25l bucket of “living compost” each year, rich in microbial activity which can be used to inoculate larger quantities of commercial compost. Think like a sourdough starter. So much goodness for your garden & houseplants, so much good for the world.

Accepted Food Waste:

• Cooked Food
• Whole fruits or vegetables (please chop if whole)
• Veg Peelings
• Cooked Meats
• Cheese
• Egg Shells (please crush)
• Shredded Paper & Card

– Delivery of first buckets on Monday 18th September.
